The Mk45 2003 before its reconstruction at the Hűvösvölgy depot

It had nothing to do one year ago, but this year this locomotive is going to be the star: completely rebuilt and refitted with a new Caterpillar diesel engine the Mk45 2003 is the most modern diesel locomotive on the MÁV narrow gauge railways. Not as high-tech as the experimental hybrid locomotive at Lillafüred, but still a great step towards more forest-friendly and cheaper work at the Children's Railway.
