The little red riding railcar speeding through Nógrád
(Duna-Ipolyvölgyi HÉV)
As we walk to the North, the view of the ruins begin to be dominated by the bastion that remained somewhat intact. Though both the Turkish and the Hungarians occupied it many times, the castle was finally abandoned when the black powder ignited in its powder tower after a strike by a lighting. To ensure that the enemy cannot use the remaining fortress for its own maneuvers, the Turkish Csonka bég ordered most of the walls to be pulled down.
