The beautiful MDmot 3024 at Aba-Sárkeresztúr
This train ran on a section of the previously sketched route from Bátaszék till Székesfehérvár. There weren’t too many passangers on it, but enough to encourage me to think more deeply on the problem of this new, diagonal route. Of course, current Hungarian transportation politics consider long-distance rail traffic only between the capital and some important cities. Those not on a double-track and electrified railway are treated poorly, eg. Salgótarján, Balassagyarmat, Szekszárd or Zalaegerszeg has virtually no real long-distance access.
