The Battonya line is similar to the Kondoros and Békés branches in that there are no intermediate villages before the terminus, but different in that Battonya wasn't meant to be a terminus at all, rather a midly important station on the way from one important line and important city to another one. Generally, I reckon that those branches that connect important lines and important cities can survive, those that don't can be replaced by busses easily.
