The UZ ER2 349 seen between Volosyanka and Kupčí
(Ungvölgyi HÉV (Uzsoki-hágó))
After Volosyanka station the railway continues to gain altitude for a short time but then it has to traverse the Uzh valley on the longest bridge of the line, after which the tracks continue to criss-cross on the right-hand side valley side until they climb the pass. It is no mistake it is often called the Semmering of the Carpathians - not only is it probably one of the finest mountain tracks MÁV has ever built but it starts in exactly the same way, with a big viadukt crossing the river, as the Nordrampe of the Semmering near Payerbach, at the Schwarza-Viadukt:
