The second motor car has the same road number as the first, but has a dash-three added instead of the dash-one. It's surprising though as these trains have four carriages. The solution may be that the predecessors of the class D had only one middle coach. They looked mostly like the D1s but had an older generation engine than the D1s' Ganz-MÁVAG 12VFE17/24 engines of the Ganz-Jendrassik family developed before World War 2.
