The V43 1279 near Bánhida
Tatabánya as a mining city is a socialist creation. Long ago only a village called Bánhida stood here, but later the city was built, the railway station was enlarged and renamed Tatabánya (Tata is a nearby city, "bánya" means "mine"), and a stop was built on the branch line that divided at Tatabánya towards Pápa, and this new stop recieved the old name Bánhida.
