Back in those days the trains to Vác were all BDVmot trainsets or V43+driving trailer consists, the Stadler FLIRT's hadn't swarmed the line by then. The ideal train for getting to Nógrád was the 5:20 AM stopping service from Nyugati as there were no midday peak hour services on line 75 (weekdays since 2010 there is an almost hourly regular timetable), so basically you could go home with the 11 o'clock train or had to wait till sunset without photographing anything. I seldom stayed that long, only perhaps when we waited for the replacement locomotive for a freight train's broken down locomotive.
