The M62 001 used to be a retro locomotive for quite some time but it wore the more typical mustache livery and only received the original paintjob a few years ago. Since that, I struggled to get and acceptable shot of this beautiful diesel locomotive as it arrived from the Soviet Union. My other photos of the M62-001 are visible here .

The train has been extended by a number of carriages because of the 38th round of the Lidl Balaton Cross Swimming (a 5200 m open water mass swimming event in Hungary). This year Kristóf Rasovszky swam 1.5 minutes in the previous record. He is an Olympic swimmer and the reigning World Champion of the 5 km open water swimming (since the 2019 Gwangju / South Korea World Aquatics Championships). At this event he did exactly 57 minutes, as opposed to his Gwangju time of 53:22 (at 5 km).

The train should have come with the cab car first, but despite the test that the cab car could control the M41.2103 locomotive, it did not work out with the complete consist. The problem is not easy to catch and I can honestly say the relevant engineers did their best to resolve the problem, but at this point, it was not enough. Still, nobody should be blamed as it was not because of a careless mistake.

The second Retro Weekend of 2020 had the steam locomotive haul a more conventional rolling stock from a trasitional time, as the passenger cars are already on the MÁV standard colours, but the red star and the green luggage car still present a 1980s atmosphere of real live steam workings. The train was extremly delayed this day, a small part because of technical problems but mostly as it has a tremendous delay already at departure from Budapest. It point of departure was even moved from Kőbánya-Kispest to Ferencváros.

Finally I managed to take a photo at the new lakeside path at Fonyód, nexto to Lake Balaton and for the first take, an advertising livery locomotive I have for long looked out for, the TRAXX locomotive advertising the national programme of visiting the countryside with student-aged children.
