The two passenger cars right behind the locomotive are remnants of the poorer days of the RhB: at the beginning of the eighties they were in desperate need for more cars to ease on the crowdedness on peak-hour services so ordered a number of cars that resembled the EWI (Enheitswagen I - standard car 1st generation) stock but was made of road bus parts (B 2261 - 2271). The unattractive, uncomfortable coaches lacked a fully openable window but despite all their bad reputation they are still running on the RhB, as well as a 2nd (B 2272 - 2273) and 3rd generation (B 2417 - 2420).
