The height difference is partly fought by the passengers as the rack trains depart from a glass and granite hall on the first floor of the otherwise quite ugly station building. Well, probably every building designed in Czechslovakia is ugly. The hall is a lot more comfortable in winter than the narrow, muddy platforms on the main line part of the station. There is a long and a short platform with the long capable of housing two rack trains. The track to the left is used for storage and is separated from the departure hall by a glass wall. When I visited the railway in snow one of the three motor cars was stored there coupled with the snow plow.
