The NÖVOG 1099 011 seen between Schwarzenbach an der Pielach and Locih with the usual set of carriages of the Dirndltaler

This locomotive was built by Krauss in Linz (serial number 8101) in 1912 as number E11 of the NÖLB (Niederösterreichische Landesbahnen). The number was retained by the BBÖ (Bundesbahnen Österreich 1918-1938) and it was carried until the Deutschen Reichsbahn took over operation in 1938 when it became E99 11. In 1953 the ÖBB renumbered it to1099.11. In October 1959 it was modernized with a new body and electro-pneumatic controls, this first member of the class to be upgraded.
