A ŽSSK class 812 railcar on the Selmecbánya (Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia) to Garamberzence (Hronská Dúbrava, Slovakia) railway's high above the valley section between Banská Bela and the closed down Kozelník stops on the bigger viadukt
(Garamberzence-Selmecbánya vasútvonal)
I collected photos from two snow-covered trips to Slovakia. On the first trip we visited the diesel-paradise of Central-Slovakia together with Iványi Csaba (http://wlab.hu/ ) and two cars. The first line we photographed was this interesting valley railway built by Czechoslovakia in 1949 to replace a 1000 mm narrow-gauge link running at the valley floor as part of a new main-line railway link from Zvolen to Sahy, that was never finished. A good long freight train would very much be welcome on this railway, but unfortunately only these 812s run here, though nowadays usually the téli Panzerkampfwagen-design special livery railcar appears here.
