The University of Leiden
The building is named after Heike Kamerlingh Onnes, one of my favourite pyhsicists, the liquefactor of Helium and the discoverer of superfluidity. He is one of the most positive heroes of science and his duel with the arrogant British Dewar for the first liquefaction of the inert gases is one of the most intriguing episodes of the history of sciences. The helium liquefactor, which consumed thousands of litres of liquid nitrogen as a pre-coolant, can be seen at Boerhaave Museum in Leiden.
