The MÁV Nosztalgia kft. M40,219 and the MÁV-START M40 224 seen between Balatonakali-Dörgicse and Zánkafürdő
Last year, the M41 224 participated alone on the first weekend, then on the second one, the older generation M40,114 took the part, later accompanied by the orange livery M40,209 as backup. This year only double locomotives were assigned, which is historically accurate as for heavier duties the Púpos/Humpback often was not sufficient in a single unit. The tunnel near Balatonakarattya, where I photographed and filmed the M40 224 last year is a shot of historical significance as the section has been electrified since, although it is not yet turned on:
