The ÖBB 1072.01 at Strasshof

The locomotive was built for the POHÉV/PWL's AC track between Köpcsény (Kittsee, Austria) and Vienna. The full line consisted of a tram section between Wien Hauptzollamt to the mainline, a DC overhead wire section between Köpcsény and the limits of Pozsony (Bratislava, Slovakia) and a DC, conduit current collector dual gauge section used together with the metre-gauge Bratislava trams. Local trains in the cities had railcars while direct trains between the cities ran with three different locomotives on the three sections.
