My previous album about the Diósjenö-Romhány branch line was titled "Romhány for the last time". Then I had an album about a special train on that line. This one can be understood, but yet another album appearing on this site about this particular line can mean nothing but a miracleous and narrow escape from closure.
Unfortunately, this miracle is still waiting somewhere, but nothing permanent will happen in the nearby future, as the rails will not be removed, and, as freight traffic will remain, will not be let be removed by third party (in Hungary it's a mean of living to help the state scrap anything that is of any kind of metal without the need to ask - the problem is, apart from the fact that it's theft, that they many times steal the metal from places where it was in use, and this sometimes causes serious accidents. Imagine when the rail is stolen from a 160 km/h track, or when the copper cable of the safety systems is stolen. When they want to steal the 25 000 Volts overhead wire they usually are a bit surprised before turning into a handful of ashes, but nonetheless it's a sad thing).
This is a line worth seeing and worth remembering. Keep it's memories in your hart!
