The CFR Calatori 60 1156-8 and 60 1356-9 seen hauling a fast train to Sighetu Marmatiei on the the bridge of the Viseu river between Petrova and Bistra Viseului

After crossing the border from Ukraine to Romania at Solotvino/Sighetu Marmatiei we departed towards Viseu de Sus but first came accross this fast train on the main railway line. The train uses the Salva - Viseu de Jos - Valea Viseului - Sighet railway, which was created by Romania as a new connection between the former Hungarian branch line Valea Viseului - Viseu de Sus - Moisei - Borsa, forking from the Batevo - Berehove - Sighet - Rakhiv - Yasinya - Vorokhta railway in the Tisa valley. The original branch line gently followed the flow of the Viseu river while the new connection leads from the Transcarpathian region to the Transylvanian Basin with spectacular viaducts.
