This one bit of mistake against thinkin in a system will not ruin Helsinki’s merit in constructing a working and well-though public transport network only using main lines and feeder service. The motorway to Itäkeskus (Eastern Centre) was full of cars and herds of busses which the building of the paralell metro cut off. After arriving in the old town the metro abandons roads and takes a deep tunnel through the Eastern and Western parts of the city, connecting to the railway and the major bus stations (Rautatientori, Eliel and Kamppi) and allows for change to the city tram network at Sörnainen, Hakaniemi, Lasipalasti and Ruoholahti to virtually all destinations.
